Overview
 
Indonesia IPv6 Summit 2010 is the first national scale IPv6 meeting hosted by Indonesia IPv6 Task Force with support of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Republic of Indonesia and Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII). This year’s event is themed Reaching the Bottom Millions, after the Government’s current effort to broaden the access of Internet for the population in rural districts through Palapa Ring and Universal Service Obligations projects.
  

Indonesia IPv6 Summit 2010 carries the following missions:

  • To promote IPv6 awareness program among Indonesian ICT society.
  • To endorse IPv6 implementation in term of infrastructure preparation to be IPv6 ready, particularly for network operator.  
  • To provide opportunities for academics to be involved in IPv6 migration and implementation phase through research proposals.  
  • To support Government's national programs that require large Internet resources, particularly IP address.  
  • To encourage hardware vendors to market IPv6 enabled devices.  

The key areas of focus in this year’s Summit are:

  • Workshop & Training
    Series of workshops and trainings of IPv6 which cover technical and management of IP resources       
  • Deployment & Policy
    Deployment status of IPv6 implementation in various countries, and how global and local policies could support it.
  • Infrastructure readiness
    Best practice sharing of IPv6 implementation, involving network operators and content providers during their migration and implementation phase.
  • Services & applications
    Best practice sharing of IPv6 implementation in services and applications, involving local and worldwide company.
  • Global learnings
    Best practice sharing by various countries, covering: Standardization, Compliance and Certification to formulate the best roadmap for Indonesia

Agenda

Conference

IPv6 Conference is the main agenda of Summit. Minister of Communication and Information Technology is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech and to witness Indonesia ICT operator joint declaration to implement IPv6.
World class experts in the field of IPv6 from APNIC, IPv6 Forum and Asia Pacific IPv6 Task Force are also scheduled to serve as speakers.
Training
Make the most of your participation in Indonesia IPv6 Summit by registering for IPv6 Management Training. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the management side of IPv6 resources directly from Miwa Fujii of APNIC and Jordi Palet of 6deploy.
